There and then I knew it was time for a serious face to face with my SELF.

There and then I knew it was time for a serious face to face with my SELF.
(WF) I was a Hypnotherapist.... I had tools... I knew the drill...

So I sat down, closed my eyes, and the first thing I did was the parts therapy session.
I HAD to find out why I needed to be so poor.
Of course, you could never have convinced me that I had a NEED to be poor...
I was much too big for that. But I did it anyway.
I did the STOP SABOTAGE session.
The door opened, the light came on, the truth was revealed,
the question was answered.
And everything changed. A miracle happened.
Within three weeks I had $3500, a signed lease on a nice house,
(even though I was a single mom, two kids, no income, bad credit and two, count ‘em TWO, dogs)
I discovered my subconscious motivation to fail.
I released it.
I manifested something that I really did want.
I met my future self and found out what it takes to be worthy of abundance.
I did it all by myself. You can too.
Read Joe Vitale's book that reveals The Greatest Money-Making Secret in History.
Share, give, be sincere. I promise you, it will change your life.
My heart to yours! May your journey be blessed with an abundance of health,
worthiness, happiness, and more than enough money to live and share your dreams.

Polite Messages: An Exercise in Interpersonal Communication

Speedwell, cat's eye alka bird's eye.

Polite Messages: An Exercise in Interpersonal Communication

This exercise is designed to help explain the concept of politeness in terms of positive and negative face (Brown & Levinson, 1987; Cupach & Metts, 1994; Goffman, 1967; Goldsmith, 2007; Holmes 1995; Metts & Cupach, 2008).

To Know
In Brown and Levinson’s (1987) theory of politeness, based in part on Goffman’s (1967) concept of face, we all have basically two needs: (1) the need to maintain positive face and (2) the need to maintain negative face. Positive face refers to the desire to be viewed positively by others, to be thought of favorably, to be held in high esteem. Negative facerefers to the desire to be autonomous, to have the right to do as you wish, to not be imposed upon.
Politeness in interpersonal communication, then, refers to behavior that allows others to maintain both positive and negative face; and impoliteness refers to behaviors that attack either positive face (for example, you criticize someone) or negative face (for example, you make demands on someone).
To help another person maintain positive face, you speak respectfully to and about the person, you give the person your full attention, you say “excuse me” when appropriate. In short you treat the person as you would want to be treated. In this way you allow the person to maintain positive face through what is called positive politeness. You attack the person’s positive face when you speak disrespectfully about the person, ignore the person or the person’s comments, and fail to use the appropriate expressions of politeness, such as “Thank you” and “Please.” It is attacks on positive face—sometimes called FTAs for Face Threatening Acts—that the term dissing is meant to capture. Made popular in the 1980s in rap music, the term refers to a form of impoliteness in which you criticize, act rudely, insult, put down, offend, or disrespect another person, verbally and/or nonverbally. It attacks a person’s positive face needs, the need to be approved of, to be respected.
To help another person maintain negative face, you respect the person’s right to be autonomous and so you request, rather than demand, that they do something; you say, “Would you mind opening a window” rather than “Open that window!” You might also give the person an “out” when making a request, allowing the person to reject your request if that is what the person wants. And so you say, “If this is a bad time, please tell me, but I’m really strapped and could use a loan of $100” rather than “You have to lend me $100.” If you want a recommendation, you might say, “Would it be possible for you to write me a recommendation for graduate school?” rather than “You have to write me a recommendation for graduate school.” In this way you enable the person to maintain negative face through what is called negative politeness.

To Do
Indicate how each of the following examples is impolite in terms of attacking positive and/or negative face by filling in as many boxes as you can in no more than 10 minutes.

Behaviors
Violation of Positive Face Needs
Violation of Negative Face Needs
1.      Failure to return the eye brow flash.
2.      Not indicating liking or +1 for a friend’s post.
3.      Criticizing another’s religious beliefs.
4.      Texting during dinner with a romantic partner.
5.      Cat calls.
6.      Asking for a favor.
7.      Interruptions which take over the speaker’s turn.
8.      Walking into another’s office without knocking.
9.      Not using normally expected honorifics such as Dr., Professor, General, or Officer.
10.  Accusing someone of some misdeed.

To Discuss
After all have completed this exercise, discussion might center on such issues as these:
1.      Under what circumstances can each of these behaviors become less impolite?
2.      Do you notice a gender difference in the use of these behaviors? If so, in what specific ways?
3.      What are some other examples of behaviors that violate our face needs?

The Stress Pill Seeing Shadows of Lions

You are helped to take the path to where you want to be.

The Stress Pill Seeing Shadows of Lions

I have written a lot about happiness over the years.
I think that happiness, in all its variations,
is what everyone truly wants in life.
For example, researchers found that parents name happiness as the ultimate goal
of their parenting role, i.e. “Happy parents = happy parenting = happy kids”.
Happiness is not only the goal of parenting, it is also a most basic human goal.
We are here to be happy, to find happiness and to enjoy it.
We want to be happy with our relationships, with our families,
at work, with our health, with money. We want to be happy with our friends and hobbies,
with our achievements, with our homes. We want to be happy with what we have
and we also want to be happy about some things we don’t have.
For example, if I don’t have sick kids, that makes me externally happy.
One small thing that gets taken away from us helps us feel happy about what we have in our life.
For example, it’s only when you get a muscle cramp from lifting too much that you learn to appreciate the simple ability to raise your hand to the steering wheel or to take off your shirt.
That is basic human nature, to define happiness by comparing it to unhappy times.
The most common obstacle to happiness is stress. In reality, stress is fear.
It is fear that manifests in tensions that drive us into primal behavior (fight or flight).
In the old days, it was what made us freeze in the face of a lion.
While in the past, it was very obvious that lions, snakes and other scary animals
were the enemy, today, the enemy is inside of us.
We get anxious and stressed just thinking about a possible scary future.
Stress is the reason most people are sick today.
It is the reason for every emotional suffering and the number 1 killer in the world.
More people die today from things related to stress than from accidents or war.
Stress today is an art. We are stressed so often these days that we have mastered this feeling.
Stress changes our ability to think critically. Over time, we become so sensitive to it
that even a mouse can become as scary as a lion.
Our brains learn to jump to the defense even at the sight of an ant.
We have reached a point where the fear is not always of something real.
Today, all the “lions” are in fact shadows.
Preparing to encounter lions makes you see lions everywhere.
Ronit Baras
If you are one of those people who are constantly stressed, keep reading.
You may find some tips in this post on how to examine those shadows
and learn to reduce your fear of them.
Preparing for upcoming stress
Stress can be very addictive. We are so familiar with it that we can’t live without it.
Most people in fact, make themselves stressed because they think this is part of their identity.
Sometimes (and this can happen to all of us), we become anxious,
which a form of stress regarding a possible (usually bad) future, in preparation for upcoming pain. We think that if we prepare ourselves for the worst, it will be easier to bear.
For example, “If I prepare for her to tell me that she does not want to be with me, it will be easier”,
or “If I prepare myself for not getting the job, it will be easier for me to manage the disappointment”. Unfortunately, it won’t.
We can prepare ourselves for good things, but it is unwise to prepare ourselves for bad things.
Don’t get me wrong. We can take things into consideration, but preparing is a whole other story.
The act of preparing for a bad thing triggers chemicals in the brain that will make you “see lions”
in the most benign places. These chemicals limit our ability to make decision.
We retreat to our most basic instincts: flight or flight.
The brain’s main priority is to keep us alive and giving energy to our most essential survival resources, like breathing and heart beat. Other things that are not essential get ignored,
like how to speak, how to feel, how to present yourself in a job interview,
how to make love to your partner or how to bake a cake.
When we get stressed, we become dumber.
Researchers found that when people are in a state of stress,
their scores on basic tests drop down significantly. It is like temporary dumbness.
We can take into consideration that the future may not be exactly what we want it to be.
This helps us take action to increase the chances of success. But be careful not to go too far.
If you “plan” for the lions, you will see them everywhere.
Today, we have happiness down to a science. There are many definitions of happiness
and each of us must define it for itself. Thanks to positive psychology researchers,
we know more about the way our brain works in order to experience more of it.
I have been the “happiness” coach for a long time. For more than 20 years I have had the words
“be happy” in my email address. People said it made them happy to get emails from me.
In all that time, people often asked me if I was happy all the time. This makes me laugh.
That is not what happiness is. Let me explain. Is it safe to say that the ultimate experience
of happiness is orgasm? Imagine if you were “happy” like that all the time.
What would your life be like? I will leave the answer to your wildest imagination.
Rating happiness
One of the best ways to recognize happiness is to put it on a scale.
There are times when we are a little happy, medium happy and even very happy.
There are many versions of happiness and I ask my clients to rate it on a scale of 1-100.
It is amazing how many people start by giving numbers in tens (30%, 70% or 100%).
Over time, they learn to be more specific (54% 68% and 97%).
When we pay attention to our happiness, we learn to see the difference between 60% happy
and 67% happy. This is a very effective emotional intelligence (EQ) technique.
The first rule of EQ is to recognize your own feelings.
That means recognizing whether you are 72% or 82% happy is important.
The happiness scale allows us to calculate the difference between the things that make us happy
and the things that makes us stressed. If you give your happiness a rating of 1-100%,
and your stress a rating of 1-100%, you subtract your happiness from your stress.
If we get a positive number, we are more happy than not. Our goal is to increase this over time.
We all have happy moment and we all have stressful moments.
Each of those moments appears on a personal rating scale.
No two people will rate the same moment by the same percentage.
But we can all come out happy in the end. What we need to do is to give the happy moments
more value and less value to the stressful moments.
The most important thing you have to remember is that happiness and stress cannot be experienced together. We can experience happiness and then feel stressed about something 2 minutes later,
but we cannot be both at the same time. So, every second of stress,
is one second less of happiness that adds up to the calculated sum of your happiness.
Like the threat of ancient times: the lion, people sometimes confuse between stress and genuine threat. Fear of the lion is not the same as being confronted by the lion.
Stress is not the lion itself, it is the response to thinking/ believing there is lion in the area.
People who find themselves stressed a lot often use mechanisms to protect themselves from the lion, when in fact, they should be focusing on ways to reduce their reaction to the shadow of the lion.
I’m not saying you should confront your fears head on all the time.
If you are afraid of lions, you won’t go to the jungle for a camping trip.
There is no point putting yourself in the danger zone voluntarily.
But the most important thing is to work on your stress mechanism
and to teach yourself to see the real animal in front of you.
In order to work on limiting stress, first we need to recognize when we are stressed.
The more often we are stressed, the easier it is for things to “push our button”.
It becomes easier for our stress to blow up and out of proportion.
Over 1,500 posts in this blog are dedicated to happiness.
Reading about happiness is like taking a “happiness pill”.
It gives people a dosage of increased pleasure and a sense of confidence.
Stress works the same way. It is like a “stress pill”.
If he happiness pill brings you happiness, the stress pill gets you stressed.
Join me next time for some ideas of what kind of stress pills there are,
what makes people stressed and how practicing being stress makes us more sensitive to blow up.
Until next time, be happy!

How To Change Your Life - Making BIG Life Changes Actually Stick

Look at things a little differently

Live an awesome exciting life
Learn the insights you MUST know to create big, sustainable changes in your life.
Without following these principles, you're bound to be stuck and miserable forever.
Hey, this is Leo for Actualized.org. In this quick self-help segment, we are going to talk about how to change your life.

This is a deep passion of mine. That's why I founded Actualized.org. I wanted to help people change their lives because that's the position that I was in five years ago.

I was struggling and trying to figure out how I could change my life and set it up and design it in such a way that I'm always happy and not dealing with all of this fear, anxiety, and negative emotions and that I'm out there and financially secure and have everything that I want in my life and just living an awesome and exciting life.

How do I get that? How do I go from this mediocre life that I have now to this supercharged life that I know I can have and that I see other people having and that I know I'm capable of getting into?

The problem for me was that I didn't know the techniques or have any friends who had done that. I wondered if it was even possible. That was always on my mind.

Now, after I've made this journey of studying over $100,000 of personal development material and after making all of these radical changes in my life -- from starting a business, becoming financially independent, moving all across the country, improving my dating life dramatically, improving my fitness dramatically, losing a lot of weight and keeping it off, improving my mindsets, and getting myself to think more positively -- it's shown me that it's possible.

Right now, we live in an information era where there are information products that will help you change your life in any way that you want. They're not overhyped. All of these changes are real and they're actually possible.

The only question is whether or not you are going to work the program and go out there and take the question and decide that you want to do this. Are you going to shell out some money to buy the programs that you need or the books and get the help that you need? Are you going to go out there and capitalize on these opportunities?

I think that the most amazing thing is that people don't realize that this is out there for them. Literally, right now, you can create and become whoever you want.

That doesn't mean that you can fly to the moon, but it does mean that whatever career you want to master, you can do. Whatever kind of relationship you want, you can get it. Whatever kind of family life you want, you can get it. Whatever changes you want to make to your beliefs and to any past trauma that is holding you back, you can make all of those changes.

However good you want to make yourself feel, like proud, optimistic, or excited, you can do that. However much travel you want to do, you can do that. However much money you want to make, you can make.

All of this is available to you. The tools are actually available to you. You do have to go out there and look and you have to follow certain principles to do this successfully.

These are the principles of success. They're also the principles of change because success, in a lot of ways, is how to make great changes and make sustainable changes.

What happens is that most of us are not lucky enough to be born successful and to be in the kinds of situations that we want to be in for our whole lives. We usually start off struggling. We don't know where we're going. We grow up in a negative environment with limiting beliefs and friends and family who are not supportive.

What happens is that we feel stuck and we feel like there can be something better. We don't know that there are certain principles that can be followed. Changes are necessary. By the process of making changes, you create this exciting life.
